Since i no longer have to save for a milling machine it's freed up some cash to upgrade my pc this is what im getting and why.

CPU:Q6600. Cause basically it's not worth buying anything else. There's no point buying a due core when the quads aren't that much more. The next up in the intel range is too much of a jump in price. As for AMD unfortunately they're rubbish and it hurts me to say that. I intend on running it at 4g

Motherboard: Asus P5Q. Cause it's got all the overclocking features necessary to get me to 4g and it has the ICH10R south bridge which enables me to run 6 disks in RAID 5 and it's Intel's RAID controller which has proven to be far superior to any another brands RAID controller. This is the major reason for selecting this MBM.

Graphics: ATI 4850. Cause it's got comparable performance to the 9800GTX but is significantly cheaper. ATI's output to a VT is way better than NVIDIA's. It's made by AMD so they get a bit of cash to hopefully build a 1/2 descent CPU again.
