TEC Calculator, Jaycar TEC's have been added

Keeping a variable load at X temp using TEC's

Now i believe most peoples answer to this question would be to adjust the voltage/ amps supplies to the TEC's to keep the load at X temp.

Up until recently this is how i thought i should be doing it too.

i have since realised the best way of keeping a variable load at x temp is to leave the voltage / amps unchanged but turn unneeded TEC's off. this drastically decreases the electricity used.eg

Numbers below are based on 226 watt tec's and a load of 200 or 50 watts and a ambient of 25c with hot and cold side C/W's of 0

Moving House

Right im moving house for the next 4 days so i wont have the internet till tuesday.

D-Tek FuZion Accelerator Nozzle Kit

The D-Tek FuZion Accelerator Nozzle Kit is what makes the D-Tek CPU water blocks SO good. It allows you to fine tune your blocks cooling performance by adjusting  the diameter of the inlet.

The kit also includes a washer which blocks up the gap between the two upper chambers resulting in significantly higher flow actually going though the bottom "cooling" chamber

These two changes obviously results in higher overall back pressure, but increase cooling performance.

New Shop is Alive

If you want to watercool your computer then head on over to watercool.co.nz , to get all your watercooling products.

One person asked if the MCW-60 fits the 9800 series graphis cards. I E-mailed Swiftech and they confirmed that it does.

FuZion v1 V v2

FuZion Rates the difference between the v2 over the v1 by only 0.003 of a C/W or if you like thats only 0.3c for every 100watts !! .. That doesn't sound like much. it'll be interesting to see some independent tests.

This should be of interest to you TEC fans out there

His TEC unit is designed to run off the USB port. USB is capable of up to 2.5w. Also consider that the unit is expected to run a fan as well. Therefore, that leaves 1.5-2w for the TEC itself. 1Throw in the inefficency of the TEC and it can probably only move 1w.

2 I hope he tests the TEC to see if it can run on +12v since it suppose to run at +5v now. He needs around 200-300 of them at +5v to cool a loaded quad core to ambient temps. Project = phail

New Shop on it's way

My new shop is pretty much done .. im just waiting till my stock arrives before i roll it out .. The shop is going to be on it's own domain from now on. It's like this for about a million reasons. i hope you guys like it. It should speed up processing quite a bit.

New D-TEK FuZion v2 CPU Block

From what i can see they've increase the pin density, which should definitely increase cooling performance.. id love to know what else has changed.
